02. Breakfast or Lunch?

It was Sunday. I never get up early on Sundays. I sometimes stay in bed until lunch time. Last Sunday, I got up very late. I looked out of the window. It was dark outside. “What a day!” I thought. “It’s raining again.”
Just then, the telephone rang. It was my aunt Lucy. “I’ve just arrived by train,” she said. “I’m coming to see you.”

“But I’m still having breakfast,” I said.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m having breakfast,” I repeated.
“Dear me,” she said. “Do you always get up so late? It’s one o’clock!”

Sarapan atau makan siang?

Itu adalah hari Minggu. Aku tidak pernah bangun awal pada hari Minggu. Aku kadang-kadang tinggal di tempat tidur sampai waktu makan siang. Minggu lalu, aku bangun sangat terlambat. Aku memandang ke luar jendela. Di luar gelap. “Apa hari!” Pikir saya. “Hujan lagi.”
Saat itu, telepon berdering. Itu bibi saya Lucy. “Saya baru saja tiba dengan kereta api,” katanya. “Aku datang untuk melihat Anda.”

“Tapi aku masih memiliki (sedang) sarapan,” kataku.
“Apa yang kau lakukan?” Tanyanya.
“Saya mengalami (lagi) sarapan,” aku mengulang.
“Astaga,” katanya. “Apakah Anda selalu bangun terlambat? Sekarang jam satu!”
